Katie Astras

Katie Dixon Astras holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in textile design from the University of Georgia and an interior design degree from Indian River State University. She began her career as a designer with Palmer Johnson Yachts in Savannah, Georgia specializing in Mega Yacht refits. She has extensive experience with yacht interiors and custom home design. Katie joined the Patty Downing Interiors team a decade ago. Her construction know-how and team player attitude make Katie a collaborative addition to renovation and new construction projects. Planning and designing a home can be stressful. Katie understands this and wants the design/selection/build process to be exciting and enjoyable for her clients.  Through collaborative communication with the builder, homeowner and architect, she strives to achieve that balance. Katie believes beautiful interior spaces are created through open dialog and a personalized approach to defining a client’s taste and lifestyle needs. Her goal is to make your space aesthetically pleasing and functional.
